Divorce and custody counsel in Greenwood Village.
My office is here, and so are many of my clients: executives and professionals working in the towers along I-25, business owners in the Village and Centennial, and the spouses who kept the household running while a career was built. The Arapahoe County courthouse is a short drive south.

Compensation that is not just a salary.
A Greenwood Village divorce usually turns on how a career is paid: base salary, bonus, restricted stock and options on a vesting schedule, deferred compensation, and the occasional partnership or founder’s stake. Colorado treats an award earned during the marriage as marital property even if it vests later, and the question of what counts as income for maintenance and child support — and what has already been divided as property — decides the case more often than any argument about fault. The Tech Center and Inverness are the reason: Comcast, Charles Schwab, Empower, Western Union and HCA HealthONE are among the large employers within a few miles, and their senior people are paid in restricted stock and deferred compensation as much as in salary. I have spent decades on exactly that question, and I write about it on the Executive Compensation and Equity Compensation pages.
For the spouse who did not run the finances, the same facts are the starting point of a different job: making the other side’s disclosure complete under C.R.C.P. 16.2, then pressure-testing it. Information asymmetry is a solvable problem; it is solved with process. See Married to the Business Owner.

Arapahoe County District Court, Centennial.
Greenwood Village is in Arapahoe County, so a case filed here goes to the 18th Judicial District at the Arapahoe County Justice Center on South Potomac Street in Centennial, about ten minutes from my office. Since January 2025 the 18th is Arapahoe County alone, and its domestic docket is a dedicated one: three district judges who hear nothing but domestic relations, four domestic magistrates and a child-support magistrate. Your first court date is an initial status conference, usually by Webex with one of the court’s family court facilitators, and because attorneys must e-file everything the paper moves quickly — the C.R.C.P. 16.2 financial disclosures are due 42 days after service, and in a DTC household that means the grant agreements and the deferred-compensation plan documents, not just the W-2. In my experience the magistrates handle temporary orders, mediation is ordered before nearly every contested hearing, and the earliest the court can enter a decree is 91 days after service; the county says so in its own FAQ. The rest — addresses, hours, what to expect — is on the Denver Metro Family Courts page.

The bench. Since January 2025 the 18th District is Arapahoe County alone; Douglas, Elbert and Lincoln moved to the new 23rd. The domestic docket is a dedicated one: three district judges who hear only domestic relations cases, four domestic magistrates and a child-support magistrate, with four family court facilitators who run the initial status conferences by Webex. Attorneys must e-file in every case type.
Parking. Free surface parking in the lots around the Justice Center. Weapons and tools are screened out at the door, and food and drink may be inspected.
Help at the courthouse. Family court facilitators and the Judicial Resource Center (Courthouse II, Room 131) serve the domestic docket.

Parenting plans for parents with real calendars.
Cherry Creek schools, activities on both sides of Belleview, and a parent whose job involves a quarterly travel pattern: a Greenwood Village parenting plan has to be built for the family in front of the court, not copied from a form. Colorado weighs each parent’s past pattern of involvement and the proximity of the two homes, and a temporary schedule that runs for months becomes the status quo. I take the first parenting order as seriously as the last one. More: Custody for Executives & Business Owners.

You work with me, start to finish, in an office you can reach on a lunch hour.
